Final Event of the extended project ALPINE AWARENESS: “SuperAlp!”

“SuperAlp!”, final activity of the Alpine Awareness project, is a “sustainable” crossing of the Alps starting in France and developing through Switzerland, Austria, Germany to reach Italy that will be achieved using only existing sustainable means of transport (regular scheduled trains, public buses, existing bike rentals, cable cars, on foot).

It will stop in some of the “Pearls of the Alps”, tourist destinations offering a sustainable mobility supply, which have joined into an organization created through the successful project Espace Alpin "Alpsmobility II". The project partners of ALPINE AWARENESS, coordinated by the WPresponsible Ökoinstitut Südtirol /Alto Adige , will demonstrate that it is possible to move without the car. The protagonists of the trip will be relevant opinion leaders, particularly journalists, writers, actors of the involved Countries known also for their interest in the mountains and the environment. This will allow to set a diary of the experience that will be published on the most important international newspapers and magazines.

The Pearls will arrange the accommodation and take the opportunity of introducing their peculiarity and their engagement for a sustainable tourism.


“SuperAlp!” will take place from the 10th to the 19th of June 2007.
